Recognising hospitality and foodservice businesses in Thailand that are leading the way in reducing waste and building more sustainable operations.

The THAIFEX – HOREC Sustainability Awards recognise hospitality businesses taking measurable action to reduce waste, from food and packaging to plastics, glass and other waste streams.

The programme is run in collaboration with The PLEDGE on Food Waste, an international third-party certification and benchmarking system for food waste prevention in hospitality, which serves as the technical authority behind the judging process.

Three winners – 1st, 2nd and 3rd place – will be recognised in each award category.

The Zero Waste Champion

For preventing waste at the source, before it reaches a bin.

• Cutting buffet food waste by a third.

• Removing single-use plastic from guest rooms.

• Switching to returnable bottles to end glass waste.

The Sustainability Changemaker

For inspiring guests, suppliers, staff or businesses to change how they operate.

• Guests who now take smaller portions.

• Suppliers persuaded to deliver in returnable crates.

• Food waste results adopted across a whole group.


*Entries must be backed by action inside the property. Communications alone do not qualify.

WHO CAN APPLY

The awards are open to hotels, restaurants, caterers, canteens, bars and cafes operating in Thailand.

  • Free to apply. There is no cost to enter.

  • No certification needed. You do not need to hold any sustainability certification.

  • Apply for more than one award. Submit a separate application for each award. You can win in more than one category.

  • The work must still be running. It does not matter when it started. A programme in place for ten years qualifies, as long as it is still in operation today.

RECOGNITION FOR WINNERS

Nine properties will be recognised, with first, second and third place awarded across each of the three award categories. Beyond the award itself, winners will gain valuable industry visibility, with their achievements showcased at THAIFEX – HOREC Asia and across our social media channels.

Trophy and Certificate

Winners will receive an official trophy and certificate, presented on stage on 2 March 2027 at THAIFEX – HOREC Asia, IMPACT Challenger Halls 1–2, Bangkok.
